Bangladesh pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed has been advised to follow a non-surgical rehabilitation plan to treat his ongoing Achilles tendon issue, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed in a media release on Tuesday.

Taskin, who traveled to London for further evaluation, was examined by a team of medical specialists, including an ankle surgeon, a sports physician, and a sports physiotherapist. He was accompanied by BCB’s Senior Physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury during the visit.

Following comprehensive assessments, the medical panel unanimously recommended a conservative, non-surgical approach to manage the condition. A detailed rehabilitation program has been developed and will be executed under the supervision of the Bangladesh national team’s support staff.

Dr. Chowdhury expressed confidence in Taskin’s recovery timeline. “The specialists believe that a conservative, non-surgical approach is the best course of action for Taskin at this time. The rehabilitation programme is tailored to gradually restore his fitness and manage the tendon condition effectively. We are optimistic about his progress.”

The BCB also confirmed that, if all goes according to plan, Taskin is expected to regain full match fitness by early June, positioning him for a potential return to the national squad ahead of the upcoming international fixtures.
