Manna Rayhan, Bir Freedom Fighter and also journalist of a local newspaper passed away on Sunday morning.

He had been suffering from different diseases for the last few months and breathed his last at 5:00am on the way to Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital in Enayetpur of Sirajganj district, said his younger son Siddiqul Awalin Omiyo. During his death, he was 71.

He is survived by his wife and two sons along with countless admirers.

Manna Rayhan is the son of late Mujibur Rahman of the Victoria Quarter area in Sirajganj town and the younger brother of Awami League leader Abdur Rouf Pata. His funeral prayer was also held at the Victoria High School ground in the town, where he was provided with the guard of honor led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Afifan Najmu. Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Ahsanuzzaman and other members of the police were also present at the time.

The journalist was buried at the Rahmatganj graveyard.
