BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will attend a public reception in Dhaka today amid heightened security. Police, Rapid Action Battalion, Border Guard Bangladesh, and other law enforcement agencies positioned personnel around the 300 feet area and at surrounding intersections, while BNP volunteer teams actively managed the venue.

Party leaders and volunteers enforced strict security measures, including a ban on masks near the stage and its immediate surroundings, to maintain clear identification.

Jasim, a volunteer from Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP assigned to security duties, said, “For safety, no one is allowed to enter wearing a mask. We are taking maximum precautions following instructions from senior leaders.”

The entrance to Evercare Hospital, adjacent to the venue, has been cordoned off with barbed wire and converted to a one-way entry. This ensures Rahman will reach the stage directly from the hospital through a controlled route.

Bangladesh Police Inspector General Baharul Alam inspected the reception site at 9 p.m. last night, accompanied by senior police officials, to oversee the security arrangements.
