BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday (November 15) said that if the party comes to power, ending India’s domination will be a top priority.

Speaking at a press briefing after visiting the rubber dam over the Mahananda River in Chapainawabganj, Fakhrul said this time the most focus will be on the Ganga and Farakka Barrage issues.

Border killings will also get attention if BNP comes to power, he added.

He said India supported Bangladesh during the Liberation War in 1971 and should cooperate even more.

Unfortunately, he said, the Modi government has put Bangladesh under pressure, taken everything, but given nothing in return.

Fakhrul came to Chapainawabganj to attend a public rally as part of a “Bachao Padma, Bachao Desh; Shobar Aage Bangladesh” programme.

The rally was scheduled to be held at Nawabganj Government College field, where he will deliver speech as the chief guest.
