BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday demanded National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman’s immediate removal from office.

Speaking at a press briefing at the BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, Rizvi said “There is no room for experimenting with national security. In the name of a humanitarian corridor, Dr Khalilur Rahman is attempting to destabilise Bangladesh and make the country insecure. Therefore, we strongly demand his immediate resignation.”

Rizvi commented that the court’s verdict regarding Ishraque Hossain reflects the expectations of the people.

He further said, “Some advisors’ remarks suggest that they are trying to implement a different agenda. The current regime appears to be provoking irrelevant conflicts with BNP leaders.”
