UNB, Ctg:

The bodies of two missing tourists were recovered on Friday afternoon from Rupsi Jharna, a waterfall in Mirsharai, Chittagong.

A search and rescue team from the Mirsharai Fire Service and Civil Defence retrieved the bodies around 1pm, according to Imam Hossain Patwari, the station officer.

The identities of the tourists have yet to be confirmed.

According to witnesses, the two individuals had been visiting the waterfall but drowned, prompting a rescue operation by the fire service.

Imam said that the diving team began their search at approximately 11am after receiving the report of the missing tourists. The bodies were recovered two hours later.

This incident comes just days after another tragedy on September 27, when a bank official died after being struck by a falling stone at the nearby Khaiachhara Jharna.
