Police recovered the body of female village police, locally called ‘Gram Police’ from a gourd field near Solonga High School in Bharmohoni Daspara village under Solonga police station in Sirajganj district on Saturday morning.

The victim was identified as Anna Rani Das, wife of late Bijen Das of the Daspara village.

Quoting victim’s family members, police said that, like previous days, Anna went for morning walk at around 5:00am and did not return to home. After a massive search, locals found her body in the gourd field and informed the matter to police.

Later, police reached to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College and Hospital’s morgue for autopsy. The reason behind the death could not be known immediately.

Monojit Nandi, Officer in Charge (investigation) of Solonga Thana said, “The reason behind the death will be known after getting postmortem report. But initially, no injury marks or cuts were found on the body that creates mystery.”
