The body of a school boy, who went missing on Friday noon while taking bath in the Jamuna river, was recovered on Saturday morning.

The victim was identified as Jihad Hossain, 15, son of Jewel Hossain of Hossainpur Baganbari and also class-IX student of Sabuj Kanon School and College in Sirajganj town.

Ataur Rahman, Station Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense in Sirajganj told The Daily Sky that, “Life saving divers of Fire Service and Civil Defense from both the units – Sirajganj and Rajshahi recovered the body after a fanatic effort.

It is to be mentioned that, Jahid went to Jamuna river near Crossband-3 on Friday, also the school holiday, along with his friends to take bath. But, he drowned in the water due to strong current of the mighty river Jamuna, while bathing.
