A Bogura court on Wednesday granted a two-day remand to the four death-row convicts, who had escaped Bogura jail on June 26.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Momin Hasan granted the remand for the four convicts after the investigation officer of the case Inspector Sujon Mia of Sadar Police outpost produced them before the court and sought a 7-day remand.

The convicts are –Nazrul, 60, of Kurigram, Amir Hamza, 38, of Narsingdi, Md Zakaria, 31, and Farid Sheikh, 28, of Bogura.

On June 26, four convicts from the Bogura District Prison’s condemned cells had escaped the prison’s Jafalong Building. Police arrested them from Chelopara Chashi Bazar near the prison within an hour. Two separate probe bodies are investigating the matter.
