Chaos over ticket distribution has marred this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) from the very beginning.

On the first day, stadium gates were vandalized by frustrated ticket-seekers. While the second day passed peacefully, the third day brought fresh turmoil.

Frustration among cricket fans over ticket unavailability took a destructive turn today as a group of angry spectators set a ticket booth on fire at around 12:30 PM on Thursday, a ticket booth at the Mirpur Swimming Complex, located next to the Sher-e-Bangla Mirpur Stadium, was set on fire.

Fans, who had been waiting for hours in long queues, grew agitated when they realized that tickets were either sold out or unavailable.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but the situation underscores the ongoing issues with ticket management in this year’s tournament. Fans have repeatedly expressed frustration over unavailability and alleged black marketing of tickets, creating tension around venues.

Despite the tickets being sold out or unavailable, the gallery was half empty during the first match of the day.

The frustrated fans wanted to know how the come the tickets were sold out but the gallery was half empty.

They even complained of having to buy tickets at a much higher price from black as the tickets were all sold. But the security force had no answer to their questions or solutions to their complaints.

Thursday will see a heavyweight clash between Rangpur Riders and Fortune Barishal in the evening which is expected to bring more crowd.
