Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul has confirmed his intention to contest in the upcoming board elections, reversing his earlier decision of not taking part.
Bulbul, who is currently serving as BCB president, announced on Tuesday that he will run for a director’s position in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking to the media after inspecting the Sylhet District Stadium, he said his decision stems from a desire to contribute further to the nation’s cricketing landscape.
“I want to work more for cricket in the country as per its need,” Bulbul told reporters on Tuesday.
He further added, “Inshallah, we will hold the elections in the first week of October. We will conduct a fair election. Here, the president is not directly elected — it is the directors who are elected. That is the first objective, and I will try to be part of that.”
