CCB members meet Foreign Adviser to discuss collaboration, consul privileges

Members of the Consular Corps in Bangladesh (CCB) met with Md Touhid Hossain, Foreign Adviser to the Government of Bangladesh, on Sunday to discuss strategies for enhanced collaboration and the promotion of privileges for Honorary Consuls in the country, in alignment with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

The meeting, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and fostering both economic and cultural ties, identified key areas of cooperation to support both national and international goals.

The key topic of discussion was ensuring that Honorary Consuls in Bangladesh receive the privileges and immunities outlined in the Vienna Convention, which would facilitate their diplomatic functions and enhance their contributions to international relations.

The meeting was attended by several distinguished members of the CCB, including Reshadur Rahman, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Dhaka and President of the Consular Corps in Bangladesh, Zulfikar Ali, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Guatemala and Treasurer of the Consular Corps in Bangladesh, Neaz Ahmed, Honorary Consul of New Zealand and Immediate Past President of the CCB, Mohammed Taneem Hasan, Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bangladesh and EC Member, Syed Farhad Ahmed, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Estonia and EC Member, Asif A. Chowdhury, Honorary Consul of Chile, Arik Morshed, Honorary Consul General of LAO PDR, Nasreen Fatema Awal, Honorary Consul General of Mongolia, Salahuddin Kasem Khan, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chattogram, and KM Mozibul Hoque, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Yemen in Bangladesh.
