Prominent folk singer Chandana Majumdar has lent her voice to a new song titled “Mon Jamuna”. Bangla Academy Literary Award-winning Tapan Bagchi penned the lyrics for the song.

Composed by Habib Mostafa, Anu Mostafiz has arranged the music of the track. The music video for “Mon Jamuna” was released under the banner of G Series Music on YouTube on Friday.

About the song, Chandana Majumdar said, “Our traditional folk songs have been cherished for thousands of years. I have sung the songs of many saints. Also, I lent my vocals to many original folk songs. The type of folk songs I usually do, the lyrics and melody of “Mon Jamuna” are of that mood. So I liked the track, I hope the audience will like it too.”

Lyricist Tapan Bagchi said, “I have tried to write the song by combining the current culture of rural Bengal. I think my lyrics will be worthwhile only if I can touch the audience’s hearts.”

Habib Mostafa shared, “Chandana Majumdar is a living legend of Bengali folk songs. She has sung to my tune before. However, I have high expectations for this song. Hopefully, the song will be well appreciated by the audience.”
