Chattogram Royals owner Kayum Rashed has asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to take over the operations of the franchise for the remainder of the Bangladesh Premier League season, BPL Governing Council member secretary Iftekhar Rahman Mithu told journalists on Thursday.

Kayum submitted a written request to the BCB, citing difficulties in continuing to run the team under the current circumstances.

“We have just received the letter. We will sit with the players and discuss the next steps now,” Mithu told journalists.

An official announcement is expected after internal consultations are completed.
