Chief Adviser of the interim government Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus will go to Rangpur on Saturday to meet the family members of Abu Sayeed who was killed during the recent quota reform movement, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.
The chief adviser will leave for Rangpur tomorrow around 9 am. It would be around 10:30 am to reach Abu Saeed’s house, said the press wing statement.
Abu Sayed, a student of Begum Rokeya University, was the first victim who was killed in police firing during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on 16 July.
His death sparked protests among the students which led to the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August.
In his first speech, after he arrived in Dhaka on Thursday, Yunus recalled the supreme sacrifice of Abu Sayed and said he will remain in the hearts of all in Bangladesh forever.
