Gaibandha Correspondent:

A three-year-old child died after being hit by a battery-powered auto-rickshaw at Dholbhanga area of Palashbari upazila in Gaibandha on Monday.

The deceased was Aleya Khatun, daughter of Mahamud Ali from Purba Gopinathpur village of Pabnapur union in the upazila.

According to family sources, Aleya’s mother was taking her to Sirajganj in a battery-powered van and was heading towards Palashbari.

On the way, when they reached the Dholbhanga market area, another van collided head on with their van.

As a result, Aleya fell from her mother’s lap onto the road and died at the scene.

Confirming the matter, Palashbari Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto said that the child’s body has been recovered after receiving the news.
