Belkuchi Correspondent:
A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash between two groups of people in Saguna village of Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj district on Saturday evening over collecting toll for an under construction mosque.
The deceased was identified as Azahar Ali, 50, of the said village.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals and clinics. Condition of two persons is stated to be critical, hospital sources said.
Jakeria Hossain, OC of Belkuch PS told The Daily Sky that, “The clash erupted between the people of Alauddin group and Karimul group at Saturday evening centering collecting toll for an under construction mosque in the village. Clashing people from both the groups attacked each other along with lethal weapons that leaves 11 persons injured. Of them, critical injured Azahar was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura, where he succumbed to his injuries, while undergoing treatment.”
“Police visited the spot and necessary action would be taken as per law,” the OC added.
