Light to moderate rain may occur in different parts of the two divisions in the country today. Night temperatures may drop from Wednesday after the cloudy sky subsides, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the country’s Met Office, forecasted this in a weather forecast on Tuesday (February 6) morning.

Desk Report:

In the morning, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius (°C) at Tentulia. A day ago, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.5 °C at Syedpur in Nilphamari.

The minimum temperature in Dhaka has increased from 16.5°C to 17.8°C. The sky of Dhaka has been cloudy since Tuesday morning.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Tuesday said that rain or drizzle may occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Besides, moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins of the country and light to moderate fog elsewhere over the country from midnight to morning, the weather forecast also said. “Inland river transport may be disrupted temporarily due to thick fog.”

At this time, the night temperature may rise “slightly” across the country and the day temperature may remain nearly unchanged, said the Met Office.

Weather will remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky on Wednesday. The BMD, the country’s Met Office, forecasted that the “night temperature may drop by (1-2)°C” and the day temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The Met Office also said that night and day temperatures may drop slightly across the country on Thursday. Day and night temperatures may rise in the next five days.
