Cole Palmer produced yet another stunning display as he broke two records during Chelsea’s comprehensive 4-3 come from behind win over Tottenham Hotspur. Palmer has now scored most penalties without missing in Premier League history.

The London derby began at a frenetic pace, with Tottenham taking a commanding 2-0 lead within the first 11 minutes. Former Chelsea player Dominic Solanke struck early, followed by a clinical finish from Dejan Kulusevski, capitalizing on errors from Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella.

Despite the early setback, Chelsea quickly found a foothold. Jadon Sancho halved the deficit in the 17th minute with a stunning strike, giving the visitors hope heading into the break.

The second half saw Chelsea dominate proceedings, with Palmer at the heart of their resurgence. On the hour mark, Yves Bissouma fouled Moises Caicedo in the box, and Palmer coolly converted the penalty to level the score at 2-2.

The visitors surged ahead in the 73rd minute when Enzo Fernández rifled home after brilliant setup play by Palmer. The Englishman then added his second of the night from the penalty spot in the 84th minute, this time dinking the ball past the goalkeeper with ice-cold composure.

Palmer’s penalty prowess saw him set a Premier League record for the most penalties scored without a miss-12 out of 12. Additionally, he surpassed Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s club record for most Premier League goal contributions in a calendar year, with 39.

Football analyst Jamie Carragher lauded Palmer’s performance on Sky Sports, calling him “coolness personified” and hailing his impact as transformative for Chelsea.

Son Heung-min netted a stoppage-time consolation goal for Spurs, but it was too little, too late for Ange Postecoglou’s side. The defeat marked Tottenham’s second loss of the week, leaving them in 11th place with 20 points.

The victory propelled Chelsea to second place in the Premier League table with 31 points, closing the gap to four points behind leaders Liverpool. Enzo Maresca’s men showcased resilience and quality, marking a crucial step in their title ambitions.
