A commemorative rally was held at Shaheed M Monsur Ali Auditorium in Sirajganj on Thursday commemorating to the martyrs and injured of July-August uprising.

The programme was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Nazrul Islam, while Police Super in Sirajganj Md Farooq Hossain, Lt Col Nahid-al-Amin, District BNP President Rumana Mahmud, BNP Central Committee Member and District BNP Secretary General Saidur Rahman Bachchu, District Jama’at General Secretary Hahid Hossain, District Unit Coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Students Movement Jubair Ishan and Muntasir Mehdi among others spoke on the occasion.

In the beginning of rally, a one-minute silence was observed commemorating and honouring to the martyrs and injured of the July-August Students-Public mass-revolution.

Family members including near and dear ones of the injured and martyrs, students of different educational institutions and civil society members took part in the programme.

Speakers at the programme demanded exemplary punishment to the attackers and killers belong to the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They also urged all to be united in which the fascist Awami League never can come back on power.

Prayers and supplications were offered for forgiveness of the souls of martyrs and rapid recovery of the injured.
