The National Consensus Commission wants to initiate discussions with political parties and reach a consensus fast to formulate a ‘National Charter’, said the commission’s vice chairman Prof Ali Riaz on Monday.
He came up with the remark at a press conference held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the morning.
In response to a question, Ali Riaz said that constitutional amendments are possible through promulgating ordinances as happened in Bangladesh in the past.
Commission members Badiul Alam Majumdar, Iftekharuzzaman, Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Safar Raj Hossain, Emdadul Haque, and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant (Consensus) Monir Haider were present.
