Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan said, “All citizens of the country including plaintiffs and accused have the right to get fair justice. To ensure fair justice for all of the country, the judiciary is working tirelessly.”
He came up with this remark on Monday (June 24) after inaugurating of Naykunja, a restroom, which was established at Sirajganj District Judge Court with modern facilities for the trial aspirants.
He also said, “Congestion of cases is the main obstacle to ensure speedy trial. To overcome the situation, various initiatives have been taken with the aim to reduce the congestion of the cases.”
Chief Justice also said, “The litigants, accused and witnesses, who come to the court, face immense sufferings due to lack of restrooms. To alleviate their sufferings, a unique initiative of establishing restroom named ‘Naykunja’ has been taken up for each court premises like here.”
The Chief Justice also inaugurated sitting place for the justice seekers, breast feeding corner, toilet and grocery constructed at a cost of about Tk 53 lakh under supervision of Public Work Department (PWD).
Registrar of High Court Division Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman, Sirajganj District and Sessions Judge M Ali Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mir Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Superintendent of Police (SP) Arifur Rahman Mandal and lawyers among others were also present in the event.
