49th anniversary of the popular Bengali newspaper in the northern region ‘Dainik Karatoya’ was celebrated in Belkuchi of Sirajganj district on Tuesday (August 12).

Marking the celebration, a discussion meeting was also held at Belkuchi Press Club.

Gazi Saidur Rahman, President of Belkuchi Press Club and Upazila Correspondent of Dainik Karatoya presided over the programme. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Belkuchi Afrin Jahan attended there as chief guest.

Belkuchi Government College Principal Mostafizur Rahman, Belkuchi Press Club General Secretary Rezaul Karim, Upazila Secondary Education Officer SM Golam Reza, Sohagpur Pilot Girls High School Headmaster Nazrul Islam, Sohagpur Shyam Kishore Government High School Headmaster SM Shahidur Reza, Jamuna TV Senior Staff Reporter Golam Mostafa Rubel, Enayetpur Press Club General Secretary Rafiq Mollah, Karatoya Enayetpur Correspondent Narayan Malakar and all journalists of Belkuchi Press Club were also present at the event.
