Demonstrations including protest rally and human chain were held at Deluakandi village in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj district on Saturday (October 25) demanding trial of the Huraira killers. The programmes were organized by local residents following his death, which has sparked outrage and grief across the area.
In the morning, hundreds of locals marched through several roads of Deluakandi village before gathering in front of Belkuchi Police Station, where a protest meeting was held.
Speakers at the rally demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the killers.

According to the sources, Mizan, son of late Amzad Sheikh of Deluakandi village was killed brutally by his rivals.
Protesters said, “Mizan was a brave young man who stood against drugs and crime in society. He was killed in a planned way by local goons. We demand immediate arrest and hanging of his killers.”
During the protest, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam of Belkuchi Police Station urged the protesters to withdraw their road blockade and assured them that the perpetrators would be arrested soon.
Before dispersing, the villagers issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the authorities to arrest the accused. They warned that a tougher movement would follow if their demands were not met within the given time frame.
