Abdul Hye Sarker, Chairman of Dhaka Bank and Bangladesh Bank Association said, “Dhaka Bank always stands be the farmers. This stance was also earlier, has remained still now and will remain in future.”

He came up with the remarks, while addressing a function held at Khidra Matia Eidgaon field in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj district on Saturday centering distribution of agricultural materials to local farmers.

Hye Sarker further said, “Belkuchi is handloom rich area in the country. Many handloom owners and workers have lost jobs due to huge lose in their business caused by abnormal price hike of relevant materials including cotton, dye and yarn. This is why, many people have returned to farming. We have lent helping hands for the farmers by providing agricultural equipments.”

Afiya Sultana Keya, UNO of Belkuchi, Protik Mandal, Assistant Commissioner, Land and Jakeria Hossain, Officer in Charge of the local police station and senior officers of Dhaka Bank among others were also present in the event.

During the programme, 30 power tillers, 30 diesel driven engines, two tractors and two harvesters were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
