The body of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Palash Saha, who had been working in RAB-7, was recovered from the floor of his room on Wednesday (May 7) noon, said RAB-7 commanding officer Hafizur Rahman.
A gunshot was heard from Palash’s room on the third floor of the camp. His colleagues found him lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctor pronounced him dead, Rahman said.
He has apparently left behind a handwritten note in Bangla on his table which said he was taking his own life.
“No one is responsible for my death, neither my mother nor my wife. I am the one to blame. I couldn’t keep anyone happy. My wife should take all the gold (ornaments) and live well. My two brothers have to look after our mother; they should take good care of her. Everything except the gold is for our mother. Our sister should coordinate everything,” it reads. Palash was an officer of the 37th BCS Police Cadre.
