A 12-year-old differently abled girl was violated by her maternal uncle in Sen Bhangabari village of Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj district.

Centering the incident, a case was lodged with the Belkuchi police station.

Police said, the accused Dulal Mondal, 50, is maternal uncle of the victim.

Police and victim’s family sources said that, local shopkeeper Dulal violated her on September 14, when she went to his shop. Dulal took her to a room backside of the shop and violated her.

When the incident came to public, the accused and his brother Ayub Ali pressed the victim’s family to make a settlement through village arbitration. But, they seek help of police for a fair trial, victim’s family members said.
