Asif Nazrul, Adviser of the Interim Government asked the traditional (Sanatan) religionists not to step into the trap of political parties.
“You are citizens of Bangladesh. So, you have rights to express opinion freely. Many political parties have played ping-pong game with you earlier to gain their interest. But, the time is over. There is no chance to do so further.”
He came up with the remarks, while addressing a view exchange meeting held at the Puja Mandap of Sri Sri Mahaprabhu’s Akhara in Sirajganj town on Friday afternoon.
The Adviser further said, “You will never-ever feel threatened and helpless. We will do as much as possible for you on behalf of our government under the leadership of the Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus. So, there is nothing of panic or harm.”
“People from all religions live together in Bangladesh. It’s a country of religious harmony. The last students’ movement was not a movement of people of any particular religion. People of all religions participated in it. There is no such thing as a minority in this country. We are all citizens of Bangladesh. So, our identities are Bangladeshi,” he added.
Sirajganj District Commissioner (Acting) Tofazzal Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Farooq Hossain, Army Officer Lt. Col. Nahid Hossain, District Puja Celebration Committee President Santosh Kumar Kanu and District BNP Vice-President Amar Krishna Das among others addressed in the event.
