TDS Desk:
The “Droho jatra” concluded on Friday with students, teachers, and people from all walks of life announcing a new programme, along with four-point demand, from the central Shaheed Minar.
The protesters will hold a mass rally in front of the National Press Club at 3pm next Sunday.
Dr Harunur Rashid – a social worker – announced this program on behalf of the students around 5pm, adding, “Our words are very clear. Sheikh Hasina’s government should resign immediately. All detained students should be released.
“Because you have proved your incompetence in running the government. And if you fail to resign, many other similar incidents can be found in our history. You will also share the same fate.”
Echoing the same, President of a section of the Students Union Ragib Naeem said, “Mass arrests must be stopped, and all those arrested should be released. Curfew should be lifted by Sunday.
“All educational institutions should be reopened. The government must resign by Sunday. If these demands are not met, a mass rally will begin from in front of the National Press Club at 3pm Sunday.”
