The benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) surged 54 points or 1.06% to 5,197 on November 27, while the turnover jumped 26% to Tk451 crore as investors participation increased.
On the day, the blue-chip index (DS30) also gained 23 points to reach 1,917.
During the session, 329 issues advanced, while 37 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
Market insiders noted investors shifted to the buying side as many stocks had reached attractive levels due to the recent bearish trend.
This renewed buying interest drove the index into positive territory.
NRB Bank led the turnover list, which was followed by Grameenphone, Agni Systems and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
Sonargaon Textile and Global Heavy Chemical hit their respective upper circuit breaker limits, each surging by 10%, while New Line Clothings emerged as the day’s worst performer.
