Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, the Sports Advisor to the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus, has said that the duration of interim government has not yet been determined.

He made this statement after paying respects to the language heroes at the Shaheed Minar on Friday.

Asif Mahmud said, “No decision has been made yet regarding the duration. Since our government was formed based on an upsurge and we have committed to several reforms, those need to be carried out.”

The Advisor also emphasised that power will be transferred to a democratic government.

He said, “We will complete the term of this government as quickly as possible by bringing state institutions under a well-ordered system and transferring power to a democratic government through a fair and impartial election.”
