The interim government has made a policy decision to change the design of the e-passport booklet.

This information was reported by the media on Sunday, citing relevant sources.

According to the report, the current images in the e-passport, including the mausoleum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a boat, and watermarks, will be replaced with pictures of the country’s natural resources.

The report also mentioned that the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs is working to implement this decision.

On January 22, 2020, Bangladesh became the 119th country in the world and the first in South Asia to introduce e-passports.

The biggest advantage of e-passports is that they enable travelers to use e-gates for quick and hassle-free travel, eliminating the need to wait in long queues for visa checks at airports.

This makes immigration processes much faster and more efficient.
