Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain returned to competitive cricket on Friday after a 16-month absence due to an ACL injury, representing Sylhet Division in a National Cricket League (NCL) match against Khulna Division at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground.
Ebadot, 30, replaced Abu Jayed in the league-leaders’ lineup for the fourth-round game. His injury, sustained during Bangladesh’s ODI series against Afghanistan in July 2023, required surgery and extensive rehabilitation.
“After 16 months, Insha Allah, from tomorrow I’m starting my cricket journey again,” Ebadot wrote in a Facebook post. He thanked family, friends, and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) trainers, requesting fans to keep him in their prayers.
In other NCL matches, Chattogram Division faces Barishal Division at the Cox’s Bazar main stadium, Rangpur Division meets Rajshahi Division in Khulna, and Dhaka Division competes against Dhaka Metro in Sylhet.
