Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has urged authorities concerned to put an immediate halt to the practice of forcing teachers to resign and bring an end to their harassment.
“Teachers being coerced into resigning and facing harassment in educational institutions are unacceptable. Such actions must stop immediately,” the adviser said during a meeting with the Ministry of Education officials at the Secretariat Tuesday (3 September).
Wahiduddin, also the planning adviser, further said action will be taken if allegations of corruption and misconduct against teachers and officials of educational institutions are found to be true.”
The adviser also directed educational institutions to identify and take disciplinary action against those who violate the code of conduct.
“Local administrations have also been directed to take necessary measures against any illegal or criminal activities,” he added.
