Various educational materials, bicycles and sewing machines were distributed among the students and helpless women in Debhata upazila of Satkhira district on Tuesday.

The educational materials including notebooks, pens, geometry boxes, school bags, umbrellas and bicycles were given for the school going students, while sewing machines were provided to 10 helpless women in the area with the aim to make them self-sufficient.

Mostaq Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Satkhira inaugurated the programme organized at the Debhata upazila Parishad premises at around 2:00pm.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Asaduzzaman, Upazila Engineer Dutee Mondal, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Oliur Islam, Nawapara UP Panel Chairman Monayem Hossain, Debhata Press Club President Mir Khairul Alam and people from different walks of the life were also present in the event.
