The Bangladesh Railway has started selling advance intercity train tickets online ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

At 8am on Friday, sales of tickets for trains in the west zone started, while passengers will be able to purchase tickets for journeys on 24 March.

Besides, the selling of tickets for trains in the east zone will start at 2pm.

For Eid travellers, the railway will sell advance tickets for seven days.

According to the BR, people can purchase the tickets for the 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 March journeys on 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 March, respectively.

Tickets for the 31 March and 1 and 2 April journeys will be sold based on the sighting of the moon.

A passenger can purchase advance tickets only once and can book up to four seats, while no tickets are refundable.

In addition, the railway will start selling advance return tickets on 24 March.

On that day, advance tickets will be sold for journeys on 3 April, on 25 March for 4 April, on 26 March for 5 April, on 27 March for 6 April, on 28 March for 7 April, on 29 March for 8 April, and 30 March for 9 April.
