The government on Monday fixed the price of cowhide at Tk 55-60 per square feet in Dhaka city and Tk 50-55 outside of the capital.

The decision was taken at a meeting on fixing the rawhide prices on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the secretariat.

The chairman of Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather goods and Footwear Exporters Association, Mohiuddin Ahmed Mahin, announced the price of cowhide in presence of State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu at the meeting.

According to the new price, the price of per piece cowhide has been fixed at Tk 1,200 in the capital while Tk 1,000 outside the capital.
