Mymensingh Correspondent:

An elderly couple was killed in a road accident at Churkhai intersection in Mymensingh Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Hekim, 80, and his wife Ajmara Khatun, 70, residents of Churkhai area of the upazila.

According to locals, the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 2:00PM when a speedy covered van hit the couple as they were crossing the road together. They died on the scene.

Mymensingh Sadar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Shafiqul Islam Khan confirmed the incident and said that the bodies have been recovered and sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies.
