Former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik apologised for addressing presenter Deepti Chowdhury as the “Child of Razakar” and for his inappropriate behavior during a talk show on the quota reform movement.

He extended his apology to both presenter Deepti Chowdhury and the people.

The apology was conveyed in a written response to Advocate Fawzia Karim Feroze, a senior Supreme Court lawyer, who had issued a legal notice on Monday, August 12.

In his letter, former Justice Manik explained that he suffers from hypertension and diabetes. On the day of the talk show, he had walked a long distance to attend, which caused his blood sugar to drop and his blood pressure to rise.

He also mentioned feeling extremely tired, which led to a loss of self-control. He expressed deep regret for his behavior and apologized to the host.

Former Justice Manik had been served a legal notice on Sunday, August 11, demanding a public apology for his misconduct towards presenter Deepti Chowdhury.
