A court in Dhaka on Thursday placed former commerce minister Tipu Munshi on a four-day remand in a case filed over the killing of Sumon Shikder in the capital’s Badda area during the recent student movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Hyder passed the order as the police produced Tipu before the court this afternoon.
Badda police station Sub-Inspector Md Rezaul Alam, also the investigating officer of the case, sought eight days to grill the former minister, but the the court allowed him four days for interrogation.
Tipu Munshi was apprehended in Dhaka’s Gulshan area in the early hours of Thursday and shown arrested in the murder case.
