Ex-ministers Razzaque, Faruk sent to jail in murder cases

Former agriculture minister and Awami League (AL) presidium member Abdur Razzaque and former civil aviation and tourism minister Lt Colonel (Retd) Faruk Khan have been sent to jail following their remand in two separate murder cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider passed the orders on Thursday as investigation officers in the cases produced Razzaque and Faruk before the court after the end of their two-day remand each in trader Abdul Wadud and BNP activist Md Mokbul murder cases respectively.

The IOs pleaded to keep the accused behind bars until the end of the probe into their respective cases.

Meanwhile, the court showed Faruk Khan arrested in two more murder cases filed with the Adabor and New Market Police Stations.

Meanwhile, Abdur Razzaque was arrested from Eskaton on October 14, Faruk Khan was arrested from his house near Dhaka cantonment area on October 15.
