A court in Sirajganj on Thursday issued an order to quiz the Awami League leader Chayon Islam, former Parliament Member of Sirajganj-6 Constituency (Shahzadpur) for six days in two separate cases filed on explosive act.
He will be quizzed for three days in each case. He was also president of Shahjadpur Upazila Awami League.
Md. Golam Rabbani, Judge of the Shahzadpur administrative court in Sirajganj passed the order, when police produced him before the court along with a remand petition for 10 days.
Fazlur Rahman, GRO of the court confirmed the information and said that, he was produced before the court in two separate cases filed with Shahzadpur police station under the Explosive Substances Act.
It is worth noting that, after the fall of the government on August 5, 2024, Chayon had been remained hiding in Tepirbari village of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur district for long.
Acting on a tip off, joint forces arrested him and his second wife from the place on February 9, 2025.
