Two houses of former Parliament Member from Sirajganj-6 constituency late Hasibur Rahman Swapan were vandalized and ransacked before setting on fire.

The attack took place on Thursday night at the two houses owned by Swapan, also former President of Shahzadpur upazila Awami League.

The two houses located at Sayedabad Punorbason (rehabilitation) area under Sirajganj Sadar upazila.

Locals said, the late MP Swapan established houses on three plots in Sayedabad rehabilitation centre. Out of which, a single-storey and a two-storey pucca house were vandalized, looted and set on fire.”

Hasibur Rahman Swapan died on September 21, 2021, after contracting COVID-19. He had previously registered these houses in the names of his daughters, which were rented out.

Humayun Kabir, Officer in Charge of Sirajganj Sadar police station said, “Steps would be taken after visiting the spot.”
