Former President Abdul Hamid, who served under the ousted Awami League government, has left the country for Bangkok.

Sources at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed that Abdul Hamid departed for Bangkok at 3:05 am on Thursday on Thai Airways flight TG340.

Earlier, around 11:00 pm on Wednesday, Abdul Hamid arrived at the airport. After completing the required immigration procedures, he left the country.

On 14 January, a case was filed with Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 124 others, along with 250 unidentified individuals, over allegations of attacking a rally, opening fire, and engaging in terrorist activities during an anti-discrimination student movement. Former President Abdul Hamid was also named among the accused.
