The expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $107.10 crore (about $1.07 billion) in remittances in the first 12 days of July.
Bangladesh Bank’s executive director and spokesman Arif Hossain Khan confirmed the information.
The amount is $12.30 crore more than that of the same period of the last fiscal year when the country received about $94.80 crore, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday, July 13.
In just expired FY24, the expatriate Bangladeshis sent record $30.33 billion (about Tk 3,70,00,000 crore).
