Bangladesh earned $8.69 billion from exports in the first two months (July-August) of the current fiscal year 2025-26, marking a 10.61% increase compared to the same period last year.
However, year-on-year growth slipped in August, with export earnings falling by 2.93%.
According to data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), export earnings for August 2025 stood at $3.92 billion, down from $4.03 billion in the same month of 2024.
The EPB noted that while export performance in the opening months of the fiscal year indicates resilience, the slowdown in August underlines the challenges facing Bangladesh’s export sector in the context of global demand fluctuations and evolving market dynamics.
