Desk Report:

The mercury level does not go down! It’s getting hot every day. Yesterday, Saturday afternoon, the condition of the residents of the capital was miserable due to the intense heat of the sun. However, the

condition of the people of Chuadanga was like boiling water in the extreme heat. Yesterday the temperature there was 4 degrees Celsius higher than in Dhaka. The maximum temperature in that district was 40.2 degrees Celsius; Which is the highest temperature record for the summer season this year.

But there is some good news from the meteorological department. They say that from today Sunday to the next day or two, there may be rain with gusty winds in two places of Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions. Along with that, there may be some hailstorms. Day temperatures may drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius across the country.

Severe heatwave swept across Pabna and Chuadanga districts yesterday. And mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal, Patuakhali, Rangamati district and Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka, and Rangpur divisions; It may continue.

The Meteorological Department says that the temperature may drop more in those areas where there will be rain. In this, the residents of that area can at least get some relief from the heat. Residents of other parts of the country may continue to suffer from the heat.

However, the Meteorological Department had predicted at the beginning of the month that this April will be hotter than normal. There was similar excess heat for two years. This time too the temperature may be above than normal throughout April. During the first six days of this month, temperatures across the country were 2 degrees Celsius above normal. The average normal temperature for this month is supposed to be 33.2 degrees Celsius, but it is higher than 35 degrees Celsius.

Manowar Hossain, a meteorologist of the Meteorological Department told Prothom Alo that this April may be hotter than usual. However, in different parts of the country, there may be thunderstorms and rain at the same time. As a result, the temperature may drop slightly. However, after three days, the temperature may rise again and the pain of heat may increase.

According to meteorologists, a special weather condition known as El Nino prevails during the summer for two years. Due to its effect, summer temperatures are higher than normal across the region from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean to the Bay of Bengal. In the last two years, many records of maximum temperature have been broken in April and May. Last year in April, the maximum temperature rose above 41 degrees Celsius.

The intensity of the heat was above normal in big cities of the country, including the capital. Meteorologists say the reason for this is that there is more moisture in the country’s air. At six o’clock last evening, the moisturizer level in the air was 62 percent, which is between 30 and 40 percent at this time. Due to excess temperature and high humidity in the air, the suffering of heat is felt more.
