The talented actor, playwright and director Falguni Hamid has returned to directing after a decade-long -hiatus.  Now, she is making a drama titled “Amate Oshposhto Tumi”. The play will be aired on Deepto TV on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The shooting of the special drama started at different locations in the capital on Saturday.

Akhtaruzzaman and Falgani Hamid have jointly written the play. Falguni Hamid’s daughter Tonima Hamid is playing a central role in the project. The other cast of the play includes Milli Bashar, Shafiq Khan Dilu, Zahid Hasan, Ahsan Habib Nasim and others.

Talking about her returning to directing after a long hiatus, Falguni Hamid said, “As an artiste, I was able to create a position in the field of acting and directing. But at a sudden time, I saw that I was not able to work as I should. Sometimes I was sick for a few days. Again I was busy with writing; I was also busy with my business. At one time, I thought, this is my world. At this time of thinking, when Deepta TV asked me to make a drama for Eid-ul-Azha, I couldn’t refuse their sincerity anymore.”

About acting in the project, Tonima Hamid said, “I suggested the names of three actresses for the drama to my mother and said you can do the job with any one of these three. But my mother said only one thing -I promised Deepta TV, you have to work. I didn’t have to run away.  Another reason to work in the drama is that I love to work under my mom’s guidance. The story of the play is also amazing. I hope the audience will enjoy the project very much.”
