Farmer electrocuted in Natore

A farmer died from electrocution in Natore’s Gurudaspur upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Nazir Islam, 45, a resident of Garila village under Debtoir union in Gurudaspur.

Locals said Nazir went out early Saturday morning to cut grass when he accidentally came in contact with a live electric wire.

As he did not return home for a long time, his family members started searching him and later found his charred body entangled with an electric wire near a pond.

They immediately informed the local Palli Bidyut office.

Later Palli Bidyut staff along with police recovered the body and sent it to the Natore Sadar hospital morgue.

Pond owners Monirul Islam and Kamrul Islam went into hiding.

Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asmaul Haque said legal action will be taken in this regard.
