A case has been filed in the Dhaka court against five people including Shykh Seraj, the news editor of Channel i, on the charge of fraud.

Presenter Farzana Brownia filed the case in the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque on Wednesday (September 25).

At that time, the court recorded the statement of the plaintiff and directed the CID to investigate the complaint and submit a report.

The other accused in the case are – Zahir Uddin Mahmud Mamun, Mukit Majumdar Babu, Abdur Rashid Majumdar Parvez and Riaz Ahmed Khan. All of them are said to be involved in Awami League politics.

According to case sources, during the quota reform movement in 2018, the program ‘Swarna Kishori’ aired on Channel i was stopped without any notice. Along with that, the salary of the presenter of the program was also stopped.

When plaintiff Farzana reported the matter to Channel i several times, she was told that her dues would be paid. Later, when she asked for the due money, some of the accused blocked her, demanded extortion, and threatened to kill her.

Farzana’s complaint – Shykh Seraj stopped the program on the orders of Sheikh Hasina. As a result, a part of the population lags in nutrition and education.
